NSW Masters 50th Anniversary Lunch Postpone until 2022
Due to the current restrictions and ongoing border lockdowns we are experiencing, the Executive has decided that it would be better to reschedule our NSWMA 50th anniversary event until another date in early 2022.
We will refund the tickets sold so far, and start a new booking link once we have settled on a new date.

NSWMA Annual General Meeting - New Date Sunday 25 July via Google Meet
Due to the COVID restrictions announced on14 July 2021 the Annual General Meeting will now be held online only using Google Meet. In accordance with the Notice of Meeting the meeting will commence at 2pm on Sunday 25 July 2021.
There is no change to the business of the Annual General Meeting.

Notice is hereby given of the Annual General Meeting of Members of New South Wales Masters Athletics Inc. (ABN 56 427 356 578) to be held on Sunday 25 July 2021 via Google Meet commencing at 2pm
The business of the Annual General Meeting shall be:
1. To confirm the minutes of the 2020 Annual General Meeting.
2. To receive the Annual Report
3. To receive the financial statements.
4. To conduct an election for the following positions:
· President
· Vice-President
· Honorary Secretary
· Honorary Treasurer
· Registrar
· Records and Awards Officer
· Journal Editor
· Media and Communications Officer
· A representative of each of the categories of - track events, field events, walking events and distance running events.
5. To conduct an election for the position of Reviewer of the financial statements.
6. To consider the making of amendments to the New South Wales Masters Athletics Inc. Constitution as proposed by the New South Wales Masters Athletics Inc. Committee.

Attendance at the Annual General Meeting
All current financial members or their appointed proxy are eligible to vote at the meeting and are welcome to attend.
Members or their appointed proxies wanting to attend the meeting must pre register their intention to attend the meeting using the following link

The meeting link will be emailed to registered attendees on Saturday 24 July 2021.
All persons attending the meeting will need to comply with social distancing requirements and any other requirements as determined by the NSW State Health and or the meeting venue management.
Appointment of proxies
1. Each voting member (as applicable) may appoint another person as proxy to attend in his or her place at the Annual General Meeting
2. A proxy may vote on behalf of no more than 3 Voting Members.
A voting member appointing a proxy
1. Must ensure it is done in writing, communicated electronically or on paper.
2. May specify the manner in which the proxy is to vote in respect of a particular resolution and may indicate the proxy is not entitled to vote on any other resolution.
3. Must ensure it is received by the Secretary no later than 7 days prior to the Annual General Meeting.

Where the proxy appointment does not specify the name of a proxy, the appointment will be taken to be given in favour of the Chairperson of the meeting.
A form of wording for the appointment of a proxy that could be used for the Annual General Meeting is set out below.
Election of the Committee and the Reviewer of the financial statements
Nominations of candidates for the election of the Committee and the Reviewer of the financial statements must be in writing and received by the Secretary no later than 14 days before the Annual General Meeting.
If there are insufficient prior written nominations received, other nominations may be taken from the floor of the meeting.

The current Constitution clause 4 (a) reads:
4 COMMITTEE
(a) The Association shall be administered by a Committee consisting of
i. The Executive:

Honorary Treasurer
One of these officers shall be appointed the Public Officer of the Association.
ii. Other elected officers:
Registrar
Records and Awards Officer
Journal Editor
Media and Communications Officer
A representative of each of the categories of:
track events, field events, walking events and distance running events.
It is proposed the current Constitution clause 4 (a) ii. should be replaced with the following wording:

A representative of each of the categories of:
track events, field events, walking events, distance running events, and multi events
The Committee is proposing to add the positions of Championships Officer and multi event representative to the positions on the Committee. These changes recognise the greater emphasis the Committee wants to place on running and coordinating events for NSW masters athletes.

Change of Name
The current Constitution clause 4 (d) ii. reads:
No committee member shall:
(a) Improperly exercise powers conferred upon them, or
(b) Fail to carry out duties properly delegated to them, or
(c) Act contrary to the Objects, or
(d) Display conduct prejudicial to the good name of NSWMA or the sport of masters athletics, or
(e) Breach the IAAF Code of Ethics.
It is proposed the current Constitution clause 4 (d) ii. (e) should be replaced with the following wording:
Breach World Athletics Integrity Code of Conduct.
The Committee is proposing the change to the Constitution to recognise the IAAF changing its name to World Athletics and the change made by World Athletics from the Code of Ethics to Integrity Code of Conduct.

COVID Safety Protocols at Athletics NSW Interclub Competitions
Due to COVID-19 and NSW Government requirements, we will be delivering our Interclub events safely in 2020/2021
In order to be able to deliver events under the current NSW Government COVID-19 restrictions, the following protocols will be followed concerning our Interclub Competitions this season unless otherwise communicated:

There will be a maximum of 400 unique entries i.e. 400 total athletes that will be permitted to each Interclub competition. If you are registering for an Interclub event, we ask that you are 100% committed to participating at that event you register.

65 spots will be available for registered coaches and club administrators to attend each event (upon pre-registering via a form provided before each competition), with the remaining spots being occupied by NSW Officials, Club Volunteers and Athletics NSW staff at each Interclub competition

Only athletes pre-registered accredited coaches, volunteers, NSW Officials, and Athletics NSW staff will be allowed to attend the event. Unfortunately, at this stage with the current restrictions, Interclub Competition events.

Carers for para-athletes will be permitted, upon pre-registering themselves on the form provided before each competition.

Athletics NSW will endeavour to provide the safest possible environment for all participants at every event that is delivered throughout the Summer Season 2020/2021
