New South Wales Masters Athletics caters to male and female athletes aged 30 and over, who live in New South Wales. We are the State Association for Masters Athletes, as well as a Club affiliated with Athletics NSW, and we promote, encourage, and host events specifically for those age groups.
Our governing body is the Australian Masters Athletics Association (AMA). Our competitions run in 5-year age groups e.g.: W30=ages 30-34, M45=ages 45-49 across all track and field events, and we represent fitness, fun, and friendship across a range of athletic events and activities.
Masters’ athletics is all about participation, so there are no qualification standards required for any master’s event held worldwide. If you're joining your local Athletics NSW club as a masters age athlete, joining our State Association as well will give you many additional benefits and opportunities, like setting masters records and competing at many different levels of competition around the world.
INCLUSION: Participating in sport is valuable and meaningful for everyone and can have broader impact for Australia’s culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. Sport can help newly arrived migrants navigate the challenges of life in a new country, such as learning the language and building social relationships.
Our Inclusion program and Come and Try Days also give people who are new to athletics a soft entry into a competition scenario, without the stress.
